At installation time of WorkNC, the environment variable WNCHOME is created which points to the installation directory of WorkNC
Therefore you can use %WNCHOME%\xxx\yyy to refere to subfolders of WorkNC installation folder
INSTALLATION:
1. Copy the crack folder to a place of your choice
2. You can start the license server either manually or create a link in Autostart folder
for automatic launch at computer-startup
4. To start the license server manually, run "wncserve Restart.bat", this starts wncserve.exe
This batch file can be executed multiple times because it kills the running wncserve.exe before restarting it
To kill the license server run "wncserve Stop.bat"
5. To start the license server automatically at computer-startup, create a link to "wncserve Restart.bat"
in the Autostart folder
If you choose this option, do not also start WorkNC in Autostart, because WorkNC may be startet before the
license manager and you get an error that the license server is not running
6. WorkNC uses a serial port for the dongle. Therefore a serial port is necessary for the license server to run
The default port is COM1, which is the value of variable WNC_KEY_DEVICE in file %WNCHOME%\client\instsite\environ.cfg
To open this file you can also double click on the link "miscelaneous\environ.cfg"
You can change the value of this variable to any serial port name
If your computer does not have an hardware serial port you can create a virtual serial port with the program
"Virtual Serial Port Driver 6.0" by Eltima Software
Create a serial port pair and assign the name of the first port to variable WNC_KEY_DEVICE, for example: COM5
You can download the program here: https://rapidshare.com/files/271374529/Eltima_Virtual_Serial_Port_Driver_60.rar
The license server must be started befor WorkNC can be used.
TROUBLESHOOTING THE LICENSE SERVER:
If you have problems connecting to license server then read this.
WorkNC is a client-server system. worknc19.exe is the client and wncserve.exe is the server.
wncserve.exe is listening on a TCP port 3601
1. Ensure that the process wncserve.exe is running:
Start the Task Manager with Ctrl-Alt-Del and select Tab "Processes", click "Name" header to sort alphabetically, and
then you must find theprocess listed
2. Start "SocketTools\TcpView\Tcpview.exe" and search for processes wncserve.exe
You should find a line similar to this one:
wncserve.exe:3784 TCP 0.0.0.0:3601 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING
3. Start program "SocketTools\SocketTest.exe" to test connectivity to the port
You should be able to successfully connect to the listening TCP port
If not this crack will not work and you will always get an error dialog
4. You can also optionally start "SocketSniff\SocketSniff.exe" to log the communication
between worknc19.exe and wncserve.exe
At start select wncserve.exe in the process list
Then start worknc19.exe and you should see log entries in SocketSniff.exe if TCP communication is possible
5. If you cannot successfully connect to the port then it is likely that the port is being blocked by a firewall or
something similar.
Try to change your computer name to a simpler one (PETER instead of PETER_XP_COMPUTER)
6. To enable debugg message logging of wncserve.exe, create an environment variable WNC_LDFN whith a value of
full path to the log file.
For example:
WNC_LDFN C:\WorkNC\Trace.txt
Reboot the computer so that the added environment variable WNC_LDFN becomes visible to wncserve.exe
ADDING ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES:
Adding an environment variable in Windows XP:
Right click in Explorer on left side item "My Computer", choose "Properties", select tab "Advanced", click the button "Environment Variables",
click the button "New" below the list "User variables for XXXXX". See also https://vlaurie.com/computers2/Articles/environment.htm
Adding an environment variable in Windows VISTA:
Right click in Explorer on left side item "Computer", choose "Properties", click on left side the link "Advanced system settings",
click tab "Advanced", click the button "Environment Variables" at the bottom,
click the button "New" below the list "User variables for XXXXX". See also https://www.itechtalk.com/thread5736.html
It does not matter whether you add a user variable or a system variable.
The only difference is that a system variable is available to all users and and a user variable is only available
to the single user who added that variable.
After adding an environment variable it may be necessary to reboot the computer, so that the variable
becomes visible to the application. |
