Installing the online documentation
The StudioTools online documentation is not installed on your system. In order to view the online documentation you must first install it using the following procedure.
Before you begin this procedure, make sure you have read it entirely. You may also want to print it out.
For more information on installing the online documentation, contact your system administrator or refer to the Installation Guide on the StudioTools Documentation CD.
To install the online documentation
1 Exit StudioTools if it is currently running.
2 Insert the StudioTools Documentation CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
3 Copy the Help, Pdf, and movies directories from the StudioTools Documentation CD to either your system’s hard drive or to any system’s hard drive that you can access via a network or web server. All directories must be saved to the same level.
However, if your organziation has StudioTools installed on several systems, you may want to install the online documentation on a single computer or a web server instead of on each system. Please refer to your Installation Guide for more information.
We recommend that you install the online documentation Help directory on your system's hard drive in the following default location:
Platform Default Location
Windows drive:\aw\StudioTools9.7\Help
drive:\aw\StudioTools9.7\Pdf
drive:\aw\StudioTools9.7\movies
IRIX, HP-UX, and Solaris /usr/aw/alias9.7/Help
/usr/aw/alias9.7/Pdf
/usr/aw/alias9.7/movies
NOTE: If you install the online documentation in the above default location, you must overwrite the current bookshelf.html file.
4 Set the Alias Preferences to read your installed Help.
Choose StudioTools Preferences > User Options > File Systems Options > Help Location to the file path or URL of your installed copy of the online documentation.
For example set your Alias Preferences to https://WebServerName/onlinedocsLink/StudioTools9.7.
Make sure you use forward slashes (/) in the file path or URL. |
