What's New: Rhino 2.0 SR3, 08-Apr-2002
New RhinoScript methods
Many new scripting methods are now included. See Scripting Methods Reference for details.
New IGES file types
The following IGES file types have been added:
EdgeCAM
EZ-CAM
Solid Concept
Digitizing option
There is now a prompt to use native digitizer coordinates when picking the origin with a digitizing arm.
Bug Fixes
Display problem in Windows XP
In Windows XP, when Rhino's main window appeared (but before the toolbars if another application was brought in front of Rhino and then Rhino was made active, the command prompt and toolbars disappeared. It was possible to make them appear by resizing Rhino or minimizing and restoring Rhino. Now, whenever Rhino gets focus, it ensures that everything is drawn correctly.
Plug-ins fail to load
Flamingo and other plug-ins sometimes failed to load after installation of previous service releases. This installer bug has been fixed.
Command title order change
The command title order has been changed back to Rhinoceros-document_name. The order used in SR2 (document_name-Rhinoceros) did not work with Rhinolator.
ExtendByLine with groups
The ExtendByLine command on a surface edge when the surface was grouped, caused the line to be incorrectly added to the group. The line is now not automatically added to the group.
STEP import crash bug
A crash bug when importing STEP files was fixed.
Incorrect snap to locked objects
Rhino incorrectly snapped to locked mesh vertices and locked point objects with point object snap, even if Snap to locked objects was not selected. This is fixed.
OnCrv, OnSrf, PerpFrom and TanFrom incorrectly allowed you to pick locked objects even if Snap to locked objects was not selected. This is fixed.
CircleTTT feedback change
The CircleTTT command does not show the tangent bars when it fails to find a solution.
Resource use problem
Problems in the CircleTTT and EndBuldgeSrf commands, the Select Color dialog box, and WMF export eventually caused all resources to be used. These are fixed.
Split change
It is now possible for the Split command to split closed clamped curves at one point using Point option.
Recently-used command popup limited to two entries
The recently used command popup was limited to two entries. Setting the number of commands in the list did not work. This is fixed.
Hidden mesh vertices
If a polygon mesh had at least one vertex hidden, it would not be drawn if any vertex was outside the viewport. This is fixed.
Rhino scripting problem with GetSpotlightHardness, SetSpotlightHardness, and AddSpotlight
Rhino.GetSpotlightHardness, Rhino.SetSpotlightHardness, and Rhino.AddSpotlight did not work properly in scripts. This is fixed.
Dialog boxes suppressed on batch IGES import
Dialog boxes were not suppressed when using the BatchReadIges command making it impossible to use the command as the name suggests. This is fixed.
Point input constraint problem
Typing points did not work right if the input is constrained. For example, when using the Rotate command, typing 0 for rotate origin, then typing 1,1,1 for the first reference point, Rhino incorrectly prints "Invalid point", when it should have projected the typed point to the plane the input is constrained to, just like entering the same point with the mouse. This is fixed.
Export closed polyline to AutoCAD
Closed polylines exported to AutoCAD were incorrectly flagged as open polylines in AutoCAD. This is fixed. Several other small bugs in DWG/DXF export were fixed.
Copying and pasting layer names caused crash
Copying and pasting layer names and trying to set a layer current with a blank name caused a crash in Windows 95/98/ME. This is fixed.
Document Properties dialog box problem
When Rhino is the current renderer, then the Default button on the Render tab of the Document Properties dialog box did nothing. It should restore the default settings. This is fixed.
Mesh display problem
Turning on control points and dragging some vertices off the mesh plane caused the shape to shade incorrectly. This is fixed.
Color display problem with V1.x files
Opening V1.x files in V2 did not work properly if the object color was white. Objects that were matte white were imported with material defined "by layer". This should have been "by object" and the object color white. Objects that were white but had some other material property defined were imported medium gray. They should have been white. This is fixed
Lightwave LWO file import problem
Opening LWO files set the object render color, but did not set the material source flag. This is fixed.
ChangeDegreeSrf change
The ChangeDegreeSrf command now ignores grouping when selecting surfaces for degree change.
Properties layer display
The Edit Layers dialog box layer order was not used in object Properties layer list. This is fixed.
OneLayerOn dialog layer selection
When the OneLayerOn command was run, the current layer should have been the selected layer in the dialog box. This is fixed. |
