So where is E 4.2?
  
Well, it's not quite done yet. We know, it's way overdue, but we'd rather it was late, than deliver a product that doesn't meet our customers expectations.
  
So what's taking us so long? Well, the list of items being worked on is way too long to put here, but here's some highlights.
  
    * Brand new STEP, VDA, STL, and IGES translators.
  
    * New faster NC procedures for roughing, re-roughing, and cleanup.
  
    * The first version of our new Moldbase product (written entirely inhouse this time around)
  
    * A whole new PDM interface. It's such an improvement over earlier versions that we will most likely be keeping this new interface, even after the PDM is gone (more about that later).
  
The updated delivery date for the official E 4.2 is late February, early March. But in the meantime, we do have a very stable pre-release (beta) version available by request only. We will only give this version to those users who understand that there is a greater potential for running into bugs/instability because of it's unfinished state, and that we reccomend it only to those users who are currently using either E 3.1, E 4.2, or IT users who are ready to seriously make an effort to move over to the E software.
