We are developing a plastic bucket with a sealing screwtop lid. The
bucket may be shipped by air, so needs to withstand a 6.4 PSI internal
pressure above ambient. We had previously designed a thicker version
with ribs, but the pressure requirement was removed by the client.
Now it is back and we are looking at adding radial ribs to the lid to
minimize deflection. Would it be possible for your team to run Finite
Element Analysis on the before and after lid designs to evaluate
increased stiffness? We could correlate your results on the before
version with our actual testing to increase confidence in the results.
We could provide the CAD models in Pro/E, IGES or STEP formats.
If somebody is interested in this project, please let me know, I will send a test report
for you review. then please give us your estimated price and schedule.
