Places a text block of information about a specific plot directly onto the same paper that is to receive your plot geometry.

Plot Setup
Specifies the accuracy of curves in the plot.
Origin Offsets
Origin is the point on the part or drawing associated with the starting position of the plotter pen. On some plotters, if the origin is not selected correctly, the plotter will hang, and the only way to clear it is to bring down the associated plot despooler.
Options
Specifies the plot media, number of copies, the name of the plot job, the text for a pause message, and whether the plot file should be saved, deleted, or released to the plotter.
Build Plot File
Builds the plot file. Select this option after defining the other options on the Plot dialog.
Your system manager will have configured your plot server (or servers), and created queues for each. Note that your plot server might be any Unigraphics node (or nodes) on your network. Plot servers are not necessarily the same nodes as File Servers, License Servers, or any other specific server nodes that may be available.
More than one Plot Queue may resolve to the same plotter device. Consult your system manager as to what queues produce results for your specific plotters.
Creating a plot file and a resultant plot require the following:
Selecting a Plot Server
Selecting a Plot Queue
Selecting Geometry to Plot
Defining Plot Parameters
Releasing the Plot Data File to its Queue
Selecting a Plot Server
Choosing File—>lot displays the Plot dialog, which shows the currently selected plot server. This will be either the last plot server selected, or the default plot server, as assigned by your system manager. Normally you will not need to select a plot server unless the default server is undesired.
If you wish to change plot servers, choose the Change Plot Server button on the Plot dialog. This button presents you with a new dialog box allowing you to specify a new plot server node. On specifying a new server node name or network address, the queue list box is updated with a list of queues available on the newly selected server.
If for some reason Unigraphics is not able to connect to the newly selected plot server; the following message is displayed:
Configured plot server is inactive. Enter alternate plot server or contact system manager.
Selecting a Plot Queue
On selecting an active plot server, a list of available plot queues is displayed. You can select plot queues simply by clicking on the queue name. Each time you reenter the plot dialog, the last selected queue becomes the default.
To list the plot jobs waiting within a plotter's queue, select the List Jobs option. Another list box displays information on the jobs in the selected queue.
The plotter associated with a given queue may be either on- or off-line.
Selecting Geometry to Plot
After choosing the plot queue, designate the source for your plot. You have two choices: Display or Drawing.
Display
The Display option plots everything in the current graphics display. The display may contain drawings as well as views.
You may also plot a zoomed area of a drawing. In this case, you plot by display, but you are viewing a drawing. The plot will contain the contents of the display, clipped at the view bounds.
NOTE: If the X-Windows driver (xwimod) is being used, Regenerate the work view after zooming, and prior to plotting.
When you choose Display, corresponding tool paths are also plotted, along with other displayed objects, if a Cutter Location Source File (CLSF) is active.
Drawing
The Drawing option allows you to build a plot file using an existing drawing. After choosing the Drawing button, you can select an existing drawing or several drawings (by holding down Ctrl or Shift buttons while selecting) from the listing box. Selecting a single drawing retrieves default plot parameters for that drawing. New drawings initially use the default plot parameters pre-defined in your ug_metric.def or ug_english.def file.
Saving, Retrieving, and Listing Drawing Defaults
After selecting a drawing from the listing box, you are given the option to Retrieve, Save, or List the drawing defaults for that selected drawing. The Retrieve button allows you to retrieve the stored default plot parameters for a selected drawing. Plot parameters are settings that affect plotter pen assignments, the rotation of the plotted drawing, the scale of the plotted drawing, plot tolerances, banner options, and plot origin offsets.
Should you wish to modify any default plot parameters and wish to store those parameters with the drawing, click the Save button after updating your plotting parameters.
To list the stored default plot parameters, click the List button.
Listing Plot Parameters
NOTE: If you have selected several drawings from the list, then you will not be able to Retrieve, Save, or List the drawing defaults and to set up plot parameters. The stored default plot parameters for each drawing will be used when plotting several drawings.
