Using the Round All Feature in Wildfire 2.0

In Wildfire 2.0, one of the many enhancements is the ability to quickly round all edges in a part. This is especially useful when designing molded parts where generally all sharp edges need to be rounded.
In order to access the round all functionality, a hidden config.pro option needs to be set. (However, see the message below from PTC before you do.) In Pro/ENGINEER, select Tools>Options in order to access the config.pro. Set the config.pro option "ALLOW_ROUND_ALL" to "YES". This option is hidden and needs to be typed manually, as shown in Figure 1:

After this option has been set, launch the Round Tool. Open the "Sets" tab from the Dashboard. The "All Convex" and "All Concave" check boxes now appear in the Dialog Box, allowing for the quick selection of all such edges. The Sets dialog box is shown in Figure 2:

By checking both Concave and Convex boxes, all edges in the part are selected:

With all the edges selected for rounding, the key can be used in order to de-select edges. This makes the round all feature very useful since it allows flexibility when working with rounds. In a case where the majority of the edges need to be rounded, but a few of the edges do not need rounding, or need to be rounded with different radius values, the key can be used to de-select edges.

The round all feature greatly improves engineers' and designers' efficiency when rounding edges. This is one of many great enhancements in Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 2.0.
Message from PTC
From time to time reports circulate on the Internet regarding the use of so-called "Hidden Configs" referring to config.pro options that are not documented by PTC and appear to enable functionality that normally would not be present. This document has been created to warn against using these config.pro options and explain the reasons why.
The use of "hidden configs" is a practice that is dangerous, unsupported, and strongly discouraged. These options are provided by PTC Research & Development for use by PTC Quality Assurance during the early research and development stages of a new Pro/ENGINEER release. These options are not intended to be used by customers in production. Some of these options may enable software code that was found to have an unacceptable level of quality and was therefore de-activated. Others may change aspects of the software that were intended to work as a cohesive whole. These "hidden config" options enable functionality that simply has not been fully tested by PTC QA.
Using "hidden configs" is dangerous and risky because these options may not only change the superficial appearance and behavior of Pro/ENGINEER, but likely also modify Pro/ENGINEER object files. Some changes may not be possible to reverse or undo by PTC Technical Support or PTC R&D. These options could cause Pro/ENGINEER to be unstable, finally resulting in unexplainable and unpredictable exits that PTC Technical Support will not be able to resolve. Some of these issues may not appear until long after the "hidden config" has been removed from the config.pro file and forgotten.
To see a list of options that are intended to be used and are fully supported, select Tools & Options, click the Find button, type "*" (an asterisk, without the quotes) in the "Type Keyword" box, select "ALL_CATEGORY" in the Look In box, and click the Find Now button.
