I am in North America. I care more about which one has more job oppertunities. In automative and aero industries, The Big Three use Catia, Ug and Ideas, and their suppliers have all of them but the old vertions, like Catia V4. They don't want spend money if it still works. At next upgrade, Ford will switch to Catia, because EDC which belongs to GM bought SRDC-Ideas.
But it is hard to get a job in automative and aero industries, you backround is more important.
Pro/e is used in platic molding in other industries.
Companies usually don't spend money to upgrad their software is it still works.
For most of other companies other than OEM, In my observation, solidworks was more popular for the prople for first time update to 3D from AutoCAD. The reason is its cheaper and easy to learn.
But in the near feature, Inventor may be much more popular for the small companies, if upgrad from Autocad, you just pay about 40K RMB. |
