•        Please note, “Design” experience is an essential prerequisite for ME
•        Experience with structural design: this include develOPMent of a product from scratch, be able to communicate in the right way with product and marketing management as well as with production management is necessary.  
•        A good knowledge of all available manufacturing techniques and their properties is necessary.
•        A good knowledge of materials e.g plastics, metals, adhesives is necessary.  Also good understanding of surface treatment processes is required.
•        Following skills are a plus (at least familiar with one):
o        Heat study and simulation: theoretical knowledge and practical experience.  Be able to analyze and optimize the design.
o        Strength verification: be able to setup a model for FEM analysis, calculate, verify and optimize designs
o        Vibration – Fatigue - Buckling: theoretical knowledge is a plus
•        Be able to carry out cost simulations
•        Good knowledge on available manufacturing techniques, experience with FMEA is a plus.
•        At least one year experience with structural design
