Power Tool Design Engineer wanted-Shanghai

A famous European Power Tools Company is looking for qualified candidates with high motivation to join the winning team here in Shanghai:


Purpose of position:

·
Design of parts, modules and tools based on agreed product concepts and specification during develOPMent, re-sourcing and product care projects within established comapny’s policies, quality standards and guidelines.
·
Establish company quality standards and development guidelines.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

·
Building up development competence in Shanghai and synchronize the results with European standards.
·
Take necessary steps to ensure proper planning and management of the design steps. Review and clarify accuracy of specifications coming from the German Development Centre.
·
Ensure a close relationship with corporate teams, the plants and suppliers during the development process.
·
Take an active part in developing power tools in cooperation with the development teams in Asia and Europe.
·
Carry out the design work (3D-CAD) for parts, components and complete units of power tools and accessories according to the concepts provided by the German Development Centre.
·
Building up competence regarding technical/physical function of the tools and its design methods to ensure to right interpretation of test results regarding function and reliability in different applications.
·
Optimize the design of the tools and their components in a systematic way to fulfil company standards in sense of quality and costs and regulation requirements and adapted to capabilities of local suppliers regarding available technologies and materials.
·
Report all results and findings and give recommendations for improvements, further actions and design adaptations to the design team.


EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:

·
University degree or above(mechanical engineering)
·
Around 5 years mechanical design experience
·
Competence in design of mechanical components, experience in design of small gear blocks is preferred
·
Very good skill on CAD, UG is preferred
·
Proficiency in English
·
Analytical and organisation skills
·
Mature, initiative, independent, proactive and good teamwork spirit
·
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
·
Open minded for changes and new experiences
·
Able to cope with multi-cultural problems
