The plunge size is defined so the cutter will not enter areas that are too small. This is useful for cutters with blind areas; if such a cutter enters an area that is too small, it will not be able to mill all material in that area. If a cutter cannot enter a particular layer, all layers below are automatically skipped.
The Min. Plunge Size is compared to the diameter of a circular area, or to the diagonal of a polygonal area (the longest distance between two points on the polygon). If the Min Plunge Size is greater than these values, the cutter will not enter.
