With the release of SolidWorks SP01, we are pleased to announce that SolidWorks has added translation support for Pro/ENGINEER files version 2000i, 2000i2, and 2001 files. The addition of this functionality gives you a perfect reason to call on accounts that currently use the above versions of Pro/ENGINEER.
Below is a list of questions and answers about this announcement.
How do customers get this added functionality?
This new functionality will be available when you install the SolidWorks 2004 SP01 service pack from the web, or from a SolidWorks 2004 SP1 CD. You will not be able to add it to a 2004 sp0 or 2003 install.
Does the Pro/ENGINEER converter support files from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire?
No, The Pro/ENGINEER converter supports Pro/ENGINEER files version 17 through 2001, but does not support files from Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire.
How does the new functionality work?
The Pro/ENGINEER translator is exactly the same as previous releases, the only thing that has changed is that encrypted Pro/ENGINEER files are decrypted prior to translation. |
