It is not assured number, it have a range between 8 and 12.Generally speaking, the notebook PCB mostly use 8 layer。

  i can not approve your points .do u find the relation between manufacture cost and technology,in general,six layers is used into notebook PCB design,four layers is used into PC motherboard design ,the pcb height range is from 0.8 minimeter to 1.2 minimeter ,ok ?that is only myself points !thanks !
