Does anybody know how to export solidwork files to 3DMax4 in a good quality. I have been trying stl but they don't look good. Other extention don't work neither.
I need to do some part in Max and make the renderings from there too.
Any sugestion?
Thanks
export as an STL from solidworks go in to the options put the settings to fine.
import the stl in to max, mae sure u select quick weld and smoothing when the import options appear. if the smoothing doesn't wokr properly import the STL again but turn off smoothing, then apply a smooth modifer to the stl where u can adjust the values of the modifer.
u can try using IGES but it normal ****s up when brough in t ax, like the surfaces are back to front...etc....i have heard SAT is a good file format to use but i think both SAT and IGES produce very large file sizes...so are to be avoided in max...realy if u can get away with it.
