3 Face Blend
A 3 face blend is a specialized type of disc blend that lets you select a third face, which must be a planar face or datum plane, as part of the blend.
To create a 3 face blend:
1. Select the First Set of faces.
2. Select the Second Set of faces.
3. Choose Tangency Control, and change the Filter to Faces or Datum Planes.
4. Select a planar face or datum plane.
5. Set Blend Type to Disc; if it is already set to Disc, reset it. (This is necessary to make the 3 face blend options appear in the Face Blend dialog, as shown in the figure below.)
6. Choose Define Law and define the law with the Law Subfunction. Select a spine string, if necessary.
7. Define the limits of the 3 face blend with Start 3 Face and End 3 Face. Values should be between 0 and 1, or you can use expressions.
8. When you have finished defining the parameters of the blend, choose OK or Apply to create it. |
